Engagement Story:
“February 9th 2016 was our third year anniversary. However, I am a teacher and our anniversary fell on parent-teacher conference night. As a result, Daniel and I elected to have dinner on Friday night instead. We went out to Longhorn Steakhouse to have dinner. Since it was Valentine’s Day weekend, we had a 30-minute wait. So we sat at the bar and had a couple drinks.

Once we got our table, we enjoyed a yummy appetizer, a great salad, a huge steak and even dessert! And we never get dessert! After dinner we returned home. I promptly changed into my new favorite Darth Vader sweatshirt and sweat pants. Then we noticed our dog was whining. So we cleaned his ears and gave him medicine. We agreed we were not doing gifts this year, because we did not need more stuff in the house. So, I bought him beer and candy, because he said he’d pay for dinner. But I had a little surprise of fart putty he admired from his 7-year old nephew from the past Christmas. The fart putty was in an amazon box that he opened with his pocket knife. I snuck a video of him opening the packet and playing with the fart putty. He was laughing hysterically. After a couple of minutes of making obnoxious fart noises, he stood up, handed me a box and said “This is for you.” So I opened the box, and he said, “Will you marry me?” And I said “Yes, of course!” But I immediately yelled at him and said “I just gave you fart putty and you gave me a ring?” Needless to say, our proposal was perfect because it reflected the humor we share in our relationship everyday. I was truly surprised and we have a great story to tell our kids someday!”
